From what I've been lead to believe, these are using the in-game graphics engine, but all are obviously in-game cutscenes if that's true. It would be nice to see some gameplay shots, or better yet - videos!
The fact that EA has been keeping very quiet on these issues worries me slightly. Plus the rumours going round that EA may have cleaned these screens up (which wouldn't surprise me in the least) doesn't fill me with confidence.
But hey, maybe if they hadn't managed that pathetic exclusivity deal and let 2K Games make their new NFL title, we wouldn't have to worry, because it would kick Madden's ass just like NBA 2K6 is embarrassing Live 06. The competition between both brands would have made for better games from both parties. Everyone should prepare for Madden to get soft and flabby under the pads in the next few seasons, because no competitors breeds shit-pile after shit-pile. But hey - That's games development the EA way. |

Well "dawg", the main reason I'm dropping a whole pile of proverbial shit on EA Sports is because I too have had 2K's NBA game and the Live equivalent for the last 3 years running and every year, EA have bent over and crapped out yet another arcade style basketball game which they try to pass off as a sim.
EA's Fifa Football series is painfully inadequate compared to Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series, and Madden wasn't half as good as ESPN NFL 2K5 last year. Fact.
Still, it is true that it is down to what the gamer thinks. Unfortunately, we're all gamers here, and the dirty little secret is that some gamers have taste and integrity, and some are merely part of cash-siphoned herd. I'll let you work out who falls into what category.

Wow those comments are so funny, but on the real note, I've gotten over the fact that 2k sports can't make football games. The only thing is that ea seem's to be slacking with promoting the next-gen madden. I have yet to see any reason why I should spend 60 bucks on a next-gen madden game that doesn't bring anything new to the table. I might as well keep madden 06 for the xbox and play it on 360.

I'll admit I'm not too hot on Hockey or Baseball, althought Baseball is fun to play. I really don't like soccer as a sport on the whole, and I can't think of anything more boring than Cricket... True enough, the proper test will be playing them. All I was saying is that if history is anything to go by, 2K sports has got the edge. Reciting an advertising slogan means absolutely nothing.
On the subject of me playing basketball, I'll have to deny water and towel boy allegations. Over here you see, we don't have water and towel boys. That's partly due to two reasons. One is that the sport is unfortunately not as popular as those lame-ass sports such as Cricket that you mentioned before, the other reason beingt that we can get towels and water for ourselves because we're not self-important assholes. |

I played G/F depending on what was needed at the time. Mostly small forward cos one of my best friends was our shooting guard for the majority of the time. He was a pretty solid shooter from outside, which was cool with me cos it gave me the opportunity to slash if he didn't have an open shot :).
I always wanted to give point a try but I was one of the stronger shooters on the team and a bit bigger than some of the other guys so they stuck me in at the G/F area. Plus one of my other friends was always our point guard cos he had pretty mad handles and could dish out assists like crazy. |

Oh madden doesn't seem to be promoting their game very well. Why aren't they showing any screens of actual gameplay, come on ea the 360 will be out in 23 days and you haven't showed me any reason why I should waste $60 on a game that I already have. What I'm saying is for right now I plan on playing madden 06 using the backward capadible thing with the 360, I mean why waste my ea, why?

| To end all this senseless bickering about something that really doesn't matter, both games are the shit, it depends on what you like as a gamer, Madden is more of a arcade football game versus true to life football, 2K5 was indeed off the chain with the sportscenter presentation and replayed highlghts(if you had it on xbox, the PS2 only showed pictures)...Madden is just what everybody is used too cause its been around so long, I do think buying all the rights to the nfl and espn was a punk move, that just showed EA's cowardice cause 2K5 went for their jugular last year, even sold it for $19.99 cause 2K5 was more realistic it would've been nice to see what 2K was gonna come with this year, I remember NFL2K on the dreamcast, that whupped Madden 2000's ass, but the intorduction of rhe hit stick on Madden05 was the shit though, granted it was a little cheap, but that shit was tight, so my advice is cop them both they are equally fun if your a nfl fan. |
